Skydive Airlie Beach offers two fantastic jump options for all confidence levels and budgets. Go High' and take the thrilling leap at either 8,000ft or 15,000ft. Experience the ultimate thrill of freefall at over 220 km/hr for up to an insane 60 seconds, and then float under the canopy for 5-7 minutes soaking up breathtaking views. Itinerary
Before hopping onboard your plane, your instructor will ensure that you are well-prepared for the experience. You will run through a briefing and learn what positions to take during the jump - this will ensure your safety and aero-dynamics at all times. Next, you'll get suited up and get settled in as you head up for your jump!

The jump team of Skydive Airlie Beach are a highly experienced crew. Most of the crew are current or ex-World and Australian Champions, some of them having won gold medals. They all have between 5,000 to 12,000 skydives each and have been part of the sport for more than 20 years.

Frequently asked questions
Should I do the 8,000ft or the 15,000ft jump?
We recommend the 15000ft skydive to make the absolute most out of your experience. With the 15000ft skydive, you get the thrill of freefall at over 200km/hr for up to 60 seconds, with the 8000ft skydive you will freefall for approximately 5 seconds!
With the 15000ft, you also enjoy a longer scenic flight over the Whitsundays, viewing more of the stunning islands and ocean surrounds. If you are a first-time jumper, feeling a little hesitant, or on a tighter budget and would like to opt for the 8000ft option, it is still an incredible experience. However, if it's a fear thing, keep in mind that whether you are 8000ft or 15000ft above the ground, the feeling of jumping out of a plane is still essentially the same, it's just the freefall time that varies between the two heights.
With both Skydive options, once the parachute is released you will enjoy floating under the canopy for 5-7 minutes soaking up the spectacular views from above. If you are not sure which height is best for you, ask our friendly sales team in the chat window.

Will I jump with another person?
Yes, you will be tandem skydiving, meaning a qualified, expert skydive master will be making the jump with you, guiding your jump and opening the chute for you!

When is the best time of day to skydive?
We suggest jumping first thing in the morning when the weather and visibility is often at its best! Be sure to allow yourself 1.5 to 2 hours from start to finish.
Do I need any qualifications to jump?
Once you arrive at the airport, you'll be asked to complete the necessary paperwork and be issued with a compulsory student permit to jump. However, this experience is perfect for first-time skydivers, and so long as you pass the tandem master's health and weight assessment, you're good to go!
