Itinerary
Every trip itinerary on board Summer Jo is unique and guaranteed to take you to the most iconic destinations within the Whitsundays. Your itinerary will be mapped out around the current weather and tidal conditions meaning that no two trips on Summer Jo are the same. However, you are guaranteed to visit the south end of Whitehaven Beach and, of course, the beautiful Reef.

Explore the Outer Great Barrier Reef
The world-heritage listed Great Barrier Reef is home to over 1600 different types of fish, 30 species of whales and dolphins, 6 species of turtles, 900 islands, and 3000 individual reefs. It also offers some of the top diving sites, unparalleled to anywhere else in the world. Summer Jo visits exclusive reef sites such as Elizabeth and Kennedy reefs. Whether it be green sea turtles, friendly reef sharks, manta rays, giant clams, clown fish, parrot fish or humpback whales, you are guaranteed to see something incredible during your time exploring the reef. If you're not up for scuba diving, spend your time swimming or snorkelling on the reef. The onboard Master Reef Guide will be there to show you around the reef and point out any unique corals or fish you may come across.
Note: Visiting the Outer Reef is weather dependent and may not always be available, but there will always be chances to scuba dive on the Inner Reef!

Visit The Whitsunday Islands, Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet Lookout
With 74 islands scattered throughout the Whitsundays, you'll be sure to get to know a fair few of them throughout your 3 day trip! You'll visit Hook Island, Border Island, Whitsunday Island and Blue Pearl Bay which is located off the exclusive Hayman Island. Whitsunday Island is the largest island in the area and is home to world-renowned Whitehaven Beach. The sand is made up of pure silica which is what makes it famously white and soft. Be sure to have your camera ready on Whitehaven and Hill Inlet Lookout, as the white sand and azure blue waters make for stunning photo backdrops! While visiting the different island spots, you'll get opportunities to embark on bush walks, chill out on the beaches, or try your hand at stand-up paddleboarding!

Keep an eye out for Whales
Whale season in the Whitsundays runs from June to October so if you're lucky enough to be travelling during those months, you might spot a humpback whale! The whales migrate north during the winter in search of food and warmer waters. You'll often see mother whales with their calves breaching and splashing about so be sure to keep a look out during your cruise to and from the Outer Reef!

Reviews
The crew was super friendly and made the whole experience really fun and relaxed. Big shoutout to George, our dive instructor. We did our Open Water certification and he made us feel really comfortable the whole time. The food was great and there was always some snacks after a dive (thanks Anneleen)
remarkable
We just had THE BEST time onboard Summer Jo! Despite winds the boat was smooth and comfortable, made it out to the reef which was E P I C ! Can highly recommend to anyone who wants to combine adventure, comfort and a whole lot of fun!
Had an amazing experience on Summer Jo. As a certified diver I completed four more dives and every one was incredible. The crew and instructors were outstanding, making us feel completely safe and so well looked after the entire time. By the end of the trip the boat truly felt like home. The snorkelling and scuba sites were absolutely breathtaking and felt magical. Highly recommend Summer Jo to anyone wanting to experience the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef and meet like minded social people.
